If that\u2019s not possible, place the tooth in a cup of milk or water and head to our office. The key to the tooth\u2019s survival is keeping it moist.<\/p>\n

Broken Tooth\u2014<\/strong>A broken tooth can occur for many reasons. For example, you can suffer an injury or a weakened tooth can finally break. If you break a tooth, apply a cold compress to the area. Get to our office quickly so we can provide the appropriate treatment to protect the tooth from additional damage.<\/p>\n

Lost Crown or Filling\u2014<\/strong>It\u2019s not uncommon for crowns or fillings to fall out, especially when they are used as a temporary solution while you wait for a permanent crown to be made. If you\u2019ve lost a crown, look for the crown and bring it with you to our office. Make sure you apply a cold compress to the area if there is any swelling or discomfort. In most cases, we can easily put the crown back on to continue protecting your tooth.<\/p>\n

Dental Abscesses\u2014<\/strong>A dental abscess is an infection in the mouth that causes serious pain and discomfort. When left untreated, the infection can spread into surrounding tissues and the blood stream. If you have an infection, you need to come in right away so we can address the cause of the infection to provide treatment.<\/p>\n
